As of Jan. 2026, the number of legally registered factories in the City was 882 wherein 123 are manufacturers of computers, electronic and optical products; 117 are manufacturers of fabricated metal products; 113 are manufacturers of food products; 68 are printing and reproduction factories of recorded media; 72 are manufacturers of machinery and equipment; 58 are manufacturers of electrical equipment; and 52 are manufacturers of electronic parts and components; totaling 603 factories, and accounting for 68.36% of the total number of factories in the City. They are the major categories of the City’s existing factories. Distribution by administrative region: Neihu District tops the rank with 394 factories, followed by Nangang District with 220 factories, together making up 69.61％ of the total.
