Up to the end of July 2017, a total of 1,135 factories were legally registered in the City. Among them, 154 are manufacturers of computers, electronic and optical products; 138 are manufacturers of fabricated metal products; 125 are printing and data storage media manufacturing and duplicating; 128 are manufacturers of food products; 97 are manufacturers of machinery and equipment; 81 are manufacturers of electrical equipment; and 61 are manufacturers of electronic parts and components; with a total of 784 factories, they account for 69.07% of the total number of factories in the City. They are the major categories of the City’s existing factories. According to the distribution by administrative regions, Neihu District tops the rank with 444 factories, followed by Nangang District with 304 factories, and together they account for 65.90% of the total.
