Taipei Expo Farmer’s Market (MRT Yuanshan Station, Exit 1)

2017 Taipei Summer Universiade ended in a satisfactory way, and another event, Taipei Expo Farmer’s Market, will open again in September. Every weekend in September will bring citizens different surprises. On September 3, the first weekend, there was a special guest bringing the audience a live concert; Second weekend on 9/9 and 9/10, the event called “Mid-Autumn Festival Pomelo Game” will give gifts to participants who PK each other with water guns, until the supply runs out; On the third weekend, 9/16 (Sat.), “Taipei Expo Rice PK Ring,” is the event that you should not miss. The farmer’s market brings participants rich and colorful themes in September, and farmers from all over the country provide with their best fresh fruits, such as dragon fruit and pineapple from Nantou (9/2-9/3), Pomelo from Yunlin (9/9-9/10), Pomelo from Hualian (9/16-9/17), vegetables and black beans from Yunlin (9/23-9/24). The participants do not need to go to different counties for these fresh agricultural products with high quality. All citizens are welcome to come and take a walk.
 

The dragon fruit is named so because its skin looks like dragon fin, and it contains vegetable protein, anthocyanin and dietary fiber that few fruits contain. Dragon fruit tastes refreshing and not greasy, and is full of nutrition. Citizens should take the chance come to Farmer’s Market and taste dragon fruit at its peak harvest period. Also, every year at this time, the fruit that would be brought onto each family table is Pomelo. Pomelo, also called Wendan, exudes a pleasant odor, and it is delicious with its sour and sweet taste. Wendan is full of all kinds of nutrition such as vitamins and citric acid, which is very good in protecting health for people of modern age who consume too much meat and fish. Wendan may be consumed directly, and it may also be made for dried fruit, jam and essential oil. All these different agricultural products with high quality may be found at Farmer’s Market.
 

Besides the various fruits introduced above, there are also tea leaves from Taipei, green onions from Yilan, Taro from Taichung, eggs from Tainan, and lemons from Pingtung. Moreover, citizens are encouraged to enjoy the music performances at the stage area from 16:00 to 17:00 every weekend.
