6th

The “2023 Taipei Lunar New Year Festival” event, themed “No Compromise for Lunar New Year Traditions,” connects ten major festive business districts, including Dihua Street, Huayin Street, Taipei Main Station, and the rear station area. It beautifies the streets while introducing the “Online Taipei New Year Shopping Street Section” which will be available for both online and offline sales until January 20th.

15thIn navigating the post-pandemic era, the Taipei City Government launched the first financing scheme aimed at revitalization, the “363 Revitalisation Financing Project.” It offers the “Taipei City SME Financing Loan” which includes a maximum application amount of NTD 3 million, a 6-month interest subsidy (2% per year), and at least a 3-month grace period; additionally, the full amount of the credit guarantee fee is subsidized. The “Taipei City Youth Entrepreneurship Financing Loan” allows for a maximum application amount of NTD 1.2 million, with full interest subsidies and a minimum 6-month grace period. The project runs from February 15th to May 15th, 2023.

14thThe only and largest pure Calla Lily field in Taiwan is located in Zhuzihu, Yangmingshan, Taipei. The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government hosted The 2023 Calla Lily and Hydrangea Festival, marking the first time the Calla Lily season began on White Day. They assisted Zhuzihu farms in creating landscape art that aligned with the concept, promoting Zhuzihu leisure agriculture area as a must-see viewing point in Taipei City during the spring and summer seasons. Approximately 650,000 people attended the festival, generating sales of flowers and other agricultural products valued at around NTD 18.7 million. The leisure sector and dining revenue totaled approximately NTD 117 million, with earnings of NTD 135.7 million. The floral season runs from March 14th until June 18th.

The Taipei City Government is launching the “Taipei City Nangang Biotech Cluster Project (Zhongxiao Main Camp Site and the adjacent west-side municipal land)” and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project, Taiwan's first BOT project that focuses on the development of the biomedical industry. The project began operations on March 23rd and was officially opened on March 30th. With an investment of around NTD 6.8 billion from private institutions, the project has developed a biomedical research and incubation center of over 5000 ping (16530 square meters) and a biotech industry space of nearly 12,000 ping (39672 square meters). This flexible area is intended for biotech innovation, allowing firms to merge incubation, research, and development (R&D), pilot production, and business offices. It is estimated to provide more than 3,000 job opportunities and an annual biotech production value of NTD 50 billion.

In response to the Central Government's policy of providing NTD 6000 in cash to all citizens, the Taipei City Government announced on March 30th the official commencement of the “Let's Shop Taipei” post-pandemic revitalizing campaign. This includes a “Lottery Event” where the public can participate by submitting their shopping receipts or invoices, as well as the launch of five major discount schemes in collaboration with local businesses.

The Subsidies and Incentives for Taipei Industry has introduced two new categories of Research and Development (R&D) grants: “Innovation Acceleration” and “Theme-based R&D.” The “Innovation Acceleration” category offers a maximum award of NTD 3 million, while “Theme-based R&D” provides a fixed grant of NTD 2 million. Applications began on September 1st.
9thThe Taipei City Animal Protection Office initiated the “Animal Protection Education Month,” introducing life education topics for the first time. From September 9th to September 30th, a series of events were held with the theme “Animal-Friendly and Happy Taipei City.”

16thAs the Nanmen Market reopens, the Taipei City Market Administration Office plans a variety of online and offline marketing campaigns to attract customers and increase sales. The renovated and upgraded Nanmen Market is not only an important landmark in Taipei City but also a major tourist destination; it is a must-see traditional market in Taipei that has transformed into a world-class market.

14thThe Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government and Taipei Chamber of Commerce hosted the “2023 Future Forum-Taipei Net Zero・Industrial Sustainability” and the Net Zero Transformation Achievement Exhibition at the CPC Corporation, Taiwan Concert Hall. Representatives from academic institutions,
