The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government held the Tourism Travel Fair for Peony from Daikon Island of Matsue and Matsue at the Taipei City Hall’s Shen Pao-chen Hall until February 13th.

The Taipei Expo Foundation organized the “Beijing Cultural Temple Fair - Expedition to Taipei” at the Taipei Expo Park, specially inviting several masters and masters’ works of Beijing’s “Intangible Cultural Heritage” to Taiwan, to share the experience and exchange culture with the general public on-site until March 8th.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office organized the event on “2015 Taipei Traditional Market Festival”, based on the theme of “Local Neighborhood is the Ideal Place to Search for Delicious Flavors” until June 30th. The starting press conference was organized on March 18th, 2015; a total of 65 vendors were gathered at the Yuanshan Plaza of Taipei Expo Park on April 25th-26th, with a total number of 40 thousand visitors and an overall turnover exceeding NT$4 million, which not only successfully continued the title as “No.1 Vendor in the World”, but also significantly increased the overall turnover.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the Zhuzihu Calla Lily Festival until April 26th, attracting approximately 70 thousand visitors.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the starting press conference for “StartUP@Taipei-Taipei Entrepreneurial Services Office”, connecting and integrating Taipei City’s innovation incubation as well as enterprise start-up resources, creating the motivation for growth; also, “Winners of 2015 StartUP@Taipei” will be accepting works until May 29th.

In collaboration with Taipei City Government’s Garden City Policy, the 3 parties including the Taipei Expo Foundation with the Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government and Taiwan New Township jointly operated the “Community Agriculture Promotion Center”, where through the exchange between citizens and the community mutual learning approach, the community’s public plantation promotional experience may be spread to all sectors in the city.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office convened the press conference for “Animal-Friendly City (”Part I: Companion Animals)” in promoting the  “Animal-Friendly City Project”, which include 10 major goals, these are enhancing management of pet shop origins, severe fines for abandonment, implementation of sterilization, assisting in the setup of cat and  dog schools, popularizing  animal-friendly space and facilities, recruiting regional volunteering by animal protectors, accurately capturing  problematic stray animals, constructing  feeding and caring systems, implementing sterilization and vaccination TNVR programs for stray dogs, as well as encouraging  civilians to set-up animal care centers.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the starting press conference for “2015 Taipei International Design Award”, enhancing the developmental energy for the design industry, accumulating the energy for Taipei City to advance towards being the design city of the world; the “2015 Taipei International Design Award” starts accepting works from May 5th until August 5th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the “Taipei SME Knowledge Institute”, assisting people with the ambition to start-up enterprises or proprietors with enterprises under 5 years old, providing courses on successful entrepreneurs’ enterprise start-up experiences  as well as the current market trends until September 24th.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office organized the “2015 Taipei Eco Festival – Our Biodiversity Our Future”, with a total number of 3,284 participants.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the “Starting Press Conference for Promotion of Energy-Saving Products” to boost the event for “Taipei Energy-Saving Season”. The “2015 Taipei Energy-Saving Season” starts from June 1st, with a total of 16 contracted enterprises and over 200 stores to jointly promote energy-saving products, launching a “Family Energy-Saving Map” to assist people in finding out the main power consumption sources in the household, to replace energy-wasting products with the use of energy-saving products, which may at least save NT$4,000 in the electricity bills of each family per year; the event lasted until the end of July.

The Taipei City Office of Commerce launched the “E-filing , E-correcting , Registration So Easy” measure for the convenience of the people, providing more convenient and fast registration services for over 220 thousand enterprises in Taipei City.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the press conference for “Website: StartUP@Taipei”, establishing the consultation platform for enterprise start-ups, as well as integrating relevant data including information, consultation, introduction and courses for enterprise start-ups.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office organized the event “Enjoy the Delicious Feast at Taipei City’s Night Markets in 2015”, a total of 5 night markets participated in this event, with approximately 15,000 people involved, and 46 media reports; the event lasted until the end of July.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office established the “Taipei City Cat and  Dog School”, providing behavioral training courses and behavioral consulting courses for cats and dogs to solve the abandonment issue due to problems derived from pet behavior in the past, as well as to include the new animal protection act into the course outline.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office organized “Guanghua Digital Plaza Seventh Anniversary” in order to attract young consumer groups, by launching  a series of promotional events starting from July 18th until August 9th, 2015, with at least 100 thousand visitors.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government invited 16 quality biotech institutes including Academia Sinica and Asia University to organize the “Bio Taipei Pavilion” and participate in the exhibition on “BioTaiwan 2015”, effectively demonstrating Taipei City’s biotech industry developmental characteristics and environmental criteria, which attracted a total of 3,938 foreign and national biotech industry-related experts to visit; the exhibition lasted until July 26th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized “2015 Biotechnology and Medical Procurement Meeting”, inviting 19 enterprise buyers from 15 nations, including the Serum Institute of India Ltd. – the biggest vaccine enterprise from India to purchase medical treatment equipment and instruments, Chinese herbs as well cosmetic surgery products from Taipei’s companies, creating a business opportunity worth US$38.172 million.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized “2015 Taipei Biotech Awards”, giving a reward of NT$5.4 million to 13 quality biotech companies and academic research institutes, thereby establishing the industry benchmark and enhance enterprise visibility by recognizing  biotech companies with successful international market layouts and innovative research and development programs.

The Taipei City Office of Commerce jointly organized “Fashion in Taipei” with ELLE international Chinese edition, which selected 10 new designers for the preliminary contest, and held the finals and dynamic fashion show at W Hotel Taipei on August 25th, which further stimulated Taipei’s fashion industry development through trade shows and matchmaking events.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office announced to implement the subsidy project for “Private Groups Engaging in Trapping, Neutering, Vaccinating and Return (TNVR) Street Dogs in Taipei”.

The Taipei City Office of Commerce received an “Excellent” evaluation from the Fair Trade Commission in 2014 for assisting in handling fair trade businesses.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office collaborated with the Criminal Investigation Division, Taipei City Police Department uncovered the first case of large-scale illegal puppy mill in Taipei City, and with a total of 349 dogs of various types and a fine of NT$600 thousand was issued.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office and the Wild Bird Society of Taipei organized the opening of the “Guandu International Outdoor Sculpture Festival”, with a total number of 20,175 people visiting the park on the day; the exhibition lasted until December 31st.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office and the Taipei Fishery Marketing Corporation jointly organized the “2015 Northern Taiwan Autumn Crab’s Carnival” until September 27th. Mayor Wen-Je Ko of Taipei City jointly promoted the Dungeness crab (Keelung City), Wanli crab (New Taipei City) and Chinese mitten crab (Miaoli County) at the Taipei Expo Park on September 26th with the mayor of Keelung City, the deputy mayor of New Taipei City as well as the deputy county chief of Miaoli County; quality and healthy seafood products were also provided onsite for selection by the public to stimulate collaboration for regions in Northern Taiwan.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the event for “2015 Hot Spring  Flower Festival”, enhancing the popularity of hot spring flowers, creating brand image and local tourism recreation, thereby stimulating the hot spring industry output value; the festival lasted until October 25th.

Based on the theme of “EXCHANGE TAIPEI”, the Taipei City Office of Commerce connected the 4 main thematic characteristic trips and 100 characteristic stores as well as installation art to market characteristic stores within the alleys of the commercial district, guiding consumers to experience Taipei’s unique urban atmosphere, and thereby stimulating growth for commercial district consumption and activate business opportunities.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized “2015 ICT Procurement Meeting” while inviting 21 overseas buyers from 16 nations to purchase computer displays, smart phones, wearable devices, vehicle electronic products, digital multiple wireless devices and smart household electronic products from proprietors in Taipei City, creating a business opportunity of US$40.67million.

The Taipei City Market Administration Office created the first case of a declining market transformed into a youth hostel - Shuanglian Market- CU Hotel, attended the “Expedia Taiwan Partner Event” held by the internationally renowned large-scale online travel company, EXPEDIA, and was awarded with the honor of “2015 Best Engagement Taiwan Award”, thereby standing out from nearly a thousand hotel proprietors who were invited from all parts of Taiwan.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the event on “Venturap-2015 ap-oip summit” for 2015, with the  enthusiastic participation of 118 teams from 9 nations in total, exchanging enterprise start-up resources and ideas, strengthening international connections; the event lasted until October 15th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized “Awards presented to winners of 2015 StartUP@Taipei” at Taipei Expo Dome to publicly recognize the top 10 outstanding teams from Taipei.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government convened “2015 Taipei Fairtrade Town Promote Press Conference”, successfully stimulating the collaboration between Taiwan Fair Trade Commission and Carrefour to launch the demonstration area for fair trade products.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office and the Wild Bird Society of Taipei organized “2015 17th Taipei International Birdwatching Fair”, with the theme “See Wild Birds, Conserve Nature”; approximately 11,369 people participated, and the event lasted until October 25th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized the “2015 Commending Ceremony for Companies Promoting Energy-Saving Products and with Outstanding Energy-Saving Performances”, presenting 4 types of outstanding energy-saving awards including “Outstanding Companies for Promoting Energy-Saving Products”, “Industry and Commerce Outstanding Energy Source Management Personnel”, “Store Energy-Saving Design” and “Commercial Building Energy-Saving Mark”, encouraging 53 outstanding companies and 12 outstanding energy source management personnel.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government organized “2015 Taipei International Design Award” at Huashan1914‧Creative Park, with 59 pieces of nominated/awarded works displayed at the event venue.

The Taipei Veterinary Medical Association organized the 2015 6th Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Associations Congress (FASAVA), the annual grand event for small animal veterinarians in Asia, the event lasted until November 22nd.

The Taipei City Animal Protection Office organized the opening and carnival for “Huajiang Waterfowl Nature Park Education Center”.

The Taipei Wetland Guardian Alliance and the Wild Bird Society of Taipei organized the “2015 Taipei Waterfowl Festival”, with the Taipei City Animal Protection Office as the co-organizer; the event was held on the two days of November 21st and December 5th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government and the Taipei Expo Foundation organized the “2015 TAIPEI LA EXPO” at Taipei Expo Park, with the event theme based on “Garden City – Creativity Regenerated”, demonstrating Taipei City as the leader for garden city; the event lasted until December 13th.

The Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government and the Taipei Expo Foundation organized the “2015 Taipei Flora Art Work Exhibition” at Taipei Expo Park, with the event based on the theme “Colorful Flowers for the New Year”, inviting domestic groups and institutions of flowers, gardening and nursery stock to hold several floriculture and gardening related knowledge lectures and DIY lessons, which lasted until January 10th, 2016.
