Shilin Market

open MAP-Shilin Market

Shilin Market was established in 1913 by Japanese merchants. The original market's building has been obsolesced and listed as a historical site already, so the merchants moved to the temporary market across from the Jiantan MRT Station. After the re-construction work of Shilin Market was completed in 2011, the merchants moved back to the NEW Shilin Market with a grand opening on Dec. 25, 2011.

In the morning, it sells mainly fresh fruit, seafood, meat and miscellaneous goods, and during the nighttime, it changes to a night market-you may find all kind of traditional Taiwanese snack such as sesame seed cake, pork sausage rice wraps, oyster omelet, and a lot more.
