What are the regulations concerning natural gas bill payment and penalties in contracts?
When the bill is paid within 7 days after the payment deadline, there will be no late payment penalty. If the bill is paid between the 8th day and the 14th day after the deadline, 1% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When the bill is paid later than 14 days after the deadline, 2% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When 2 bills or more remain unpaid after the company has issued the reminder notice, 4% of the total due balance will be charged (rounded up to the nearest whole dollar) until all overdue payments are paid.
