What are the regulations concerning natural gas bill payment and penalties in contracts?

  1. Concerning the current payment rules of the four natural gas companies in Taipei City, users can pay the bill directly to the respective company, at the service counters, or through authorized banks, post offices, convenience stores, etc., within 14 days of the billing date. The terms and policies regarding the grace period, the penalties for breach of contract charging standard and minimum amount can be referred to in the respective natural gas company’s business articles approved by the competent authorities:
    1. Household
      When the bill is paid within 7 days after the payment deadline, there will be no late payment penalty. If the bill is paid between the 8th day and the 14th day after the deadline, 1% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When the bill is paid later than 14 days after the deadline, 2% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When 2 bills or more remain unpaid after the company has issued the reminder notice, 4% of the total due balance will be charged (rounded up to the nearest whole dollar) until all overdue payments are paid.
    2. Business
      When the bill is paid within 2 days after the payment deadline, there will be no late payment penalty. If the bill is paid between the 3rd day and the 14th day after the deadline, 1% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When the bill is paid later than 14 days after the deadline, 2% of the due balance will be charged for the late payment fee. When 2 bills or more remain unpaid after the company has issued the reminder notice, 4% of the total due balance will be charged until all overdue payments are paid. If the late payment fee is less than NT$5, it will round up to NT$5.
