Taipei City Animal Protection Office (TCAPO) planned a variety of animal rabies vaccination campaigns in September, starting from September 3 to September 18 at Bopiliao Historic Block, exhibiting dog and cat paper art models, and invited the artist Shanny to shoot a film, indicating the injection rate of 70% that can prevent rabies outbreaks. TCAPO also recommended public the principles of preventing rabies: “Stay away from wildlife, do not abandon domestic pets, and get pets vaccinated every year.”
On September 21st, TCAPO provided 100 rabies vaccines for free at Tammei Pet Park and invited several celebrities and public to bring their dogs to complete the annual rabies vaccine injection. A week before that day, 289 notifications of rabies vaccination were sent to the citizens in the district. Meanwhile, TCAPO also invited public to use the hashtag “rabiesendshere” while checking in on Facebook, and encouraged participators to join the Good Master event, anyone with their pets that had completed annual rabies vaccination and pet microchip registration would get one present. In the end, there were 23 dogs completing the annual injection and pet registration in response to the World Rabies Day (on September 28).
