Hot summer warning - it is illegal to leave dogs and cats alone in the car
On 20 February 2020, the Taipei City Government implemented‘Taipei City Basic Care Rules for Dogs and Cats’focusing on cooling and transportation requirements in caring for pets. Furthermore, dogs and cats should not be left alone in the car as they cannot efficiently cool themselves down and may suffer from heat stroke and die. The Taipei City Animal Protection Office have referred pet owners to https://tinyurl.com/y9u7g8j7 for details of the rules. If you find a pet owner breaking these rules or an animal in distress, please call Citizen Hotline on 1999 or Animal Protection Hotline on 02-87913064~5 so that the Animal Protection Office can take action to protect the animals.
